Day care owner allegedly killed infant after bashing his head into the floor

A shocking and heartbreaking incident occurred in Little Rock, Arkansas, where a daycare owner was charged with capital murder for the brutal killing of an 8-month-old infant. Erin Sauls, 23, allegedly lost control and slammed the baby’s head into the floor multiple times while changing his diaper, ultimately leading to his tragic death.

The horrifying incident took place at Sauls’ home daycare on Clifton Drive. According to reports, Sauls became “frustrated” and developed a “headache” during the diaper change, leading her to violently bash the infant’s head into the hardwood floor. Despite giving the baby a bottle after the incident, he stopped breathing shortly after and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim, identified as Elijah Flowerday, suffered a skull fracture and brain bleed as a result of the vicious attack. The police were called to the scene and Sauls was taken into custody after confessing to the heinous crime. The infant’s mother, Trinity Russell, expressed her devastation over the loss of her son, stating that he was in good health when she dropped him off at the daycare that morning.

The tragic loss has left the family reeling, with a GoFundMe page set up to support them during this difficult time. The family is mourning the loss of their beloved baby boy, Elijah, and trying to find comfort and healing together in the wake of this unimaginable tragedy.

Sauls was arraigned in Little Rock District Court and pleaded not guilty to capital murder. She is currently being held without bond at the Pulaski County jail until her trial. The violent death of Elijah Flowerday has been ruled a homicide, and the community is left in shock and mourning over the senseless loss of such a young life.
