Denver developer Chad McWhinney identified in Epstein files
A Developer Linked to Epstein Files Emerges in Colorado
A well-known real estate developer in downtown Denver has been connected to the Justice Department’s Epstein files. Chad McWhinney, the founder of McWhinney — now rebranded as Realberry — is featured in a single email exchange with Jeffrey Epstein, where a photo of him kissing a woman is included.
The email, dated Nov. 1, 2014, describes McWhinney as “chad mcwhinney, kimball’s friend” and expresses positive sentiments towards him. However, McWhinney’s attorney, Chris Murray, denied any knowledge of Epstein or conducting business with him. The woman in the photo, whose identity remains redacted, allegedly sent the email to Epstein without McWhinney’s awareness of her connection to the infamous financier.
The email suggests a lunch meeting at The Mark by Jean-Georges in Manhattan, possibly involving Kimbal Musk, brother of Elon Musk. While the details surrounding the photo and its context remain unclear, McWhinney’s lawyer emphasized his client’s lack of direct involvement with Epstein.
McWhinney, originally from California, relocated to Loveland and embarked on various real estate ventures, notably the Centerra community in Larimer County. His company, now known as Realberry, has undertaken significant projects in Denver, such as Union Station, the Dairy Block, and the FoundryLine apartment building in RiNo.
Despite the recent name change, Realberry continues to pursue new developments like Red Hawk Crossings in Castle Rock, seeking investments from interested parties. McWhinney’s contributions to the real estate industry have earned him accolades, including Developer/Owner of the Year from NAIOP Colorado and Most Admired CEO by Denver Business Journal.
As the Epstein files continue to reveal connections to prominent figures, McWhinney’s tangential involvement underscores the far-reaching implications of the scandal. The investigation sheds light on the interactions between Epstein and individuals across various sectors, including real estate and business.
