Donald Trump Asks KC BBQ Owners About Patrick Mahomes’ Health
President Donald Trump showed concern for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ health after his season-ending injury last year. During a meeting with Slap’s BBQ owners, Mike and Joe Pearce, at the White House on May 4, Trump inquired about Mahomes’ recovery.
The brothers reassured Trump that Mahomes was on the road to recovery, but Trump seemed skeptical and asked for more details. He expressed his love for the NFL player and emphasized the importance of Mahomes getting back on the field soon.
Trump also asked the Pearce brothers about Mahomes’ potential return for the upcoming NFL season. The owners mentioned that they were hopeful for Mahomes to make a comeback in time for the season opener, although the official schedule had not been released yet.
The president praised Mahomes as a “fantastic guy” and inquired whether the brothers had any interactions with the quarterback or other Chiefs players. Mike and Joe shared that the Chiefs organization had been frequent customers at their restaurant.
Following his ACL and ICL tear in December 2025, Mahomes underwent surgery and set goals for his recovery process. In a January Instagram video, he expressed his determination to be ready for Week 1 of the upcoming season.
Coach Andy Reid also expressed optimism about Mahomes’ return to the field, stating that he would never bet against the quarterback’s work ethic and dedication.
As Mahomes continues his rehabilitation, fans eagerly anticipate his comeback and hope to see him back in action for the Kansas City Chiefs. Trump’s concern for the star quarterback’s health highlights Mahomes’ importance not only to the team but also to football enthusiasts nationwide.
