Eagles move on from OC Kevin Patullo after one lackluster season with him calling plays
The Philadelphia Eagles have made a significant change to their coaching staff, as they have decided to part ways with offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo. Head coach Nick Sirianni announced the decision on Tuesday, stating that he is looking to go in a different direction after one season with Patullo calling plays.
This move comes after the Eagles lost offensive coordinator Kellen Moore following their Super Bowl victory in 2025. Moore left to take the head coaching job in New Orleans, and the Eagles turned to Patullo in an effort to maintain continuity for quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley, and receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Patullo had been serving as the team’s passing game coordinator since 2021.
However, the decision to promote Patullo internally did not yield the desired results. The Eagles struggled to find rhythm on offense throughout the season, ranking 24th in total offense with 311.2 yards per game and 19th in scoring with 22.3 points per game.
In a statement, Coach Sirianni expressed his respect for Patullo as a coach and leader within the organization, but ultimately felt that a change was necessary. He acknowledged Patullo’s contributions to the team’s success over the past five years but took responsibility for the team falling short of its goals.
With Patullo out, the Eagles will now be searching for their fifth offensive coordinator in Sirianni’s six seasons with the team. Patullo follows Moore, Brian Johnson (2023), and Shane Steichen (2021-22) in the role.
This shakeup in the coaching staff marks a new chapter for the Eagles as they look to improve their offensive performance in the upcoming season. Stay tuned for updates on the team’s search for a new offensive coordinator.
