Elizabeth Holmes Doc Shocks NYFF, De Niro Crashes Kimmel, and Caitlin Clark Gets Her Signature Shoe
October 1 brought a busy mix of film-festival surprises, late-night satire, streaming releases, and serious legal news across the U.S. entertainment scene.
Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s secret Elizabeth Holmes documentary, You Can See Everything, premiered Wednesday at the New York Film Festival after first screening unexpectedly at Telluride. According to ABC News, the nearly three-hour film follows Holmes during the 34 days before she reported to prison. A24 plans to release it theatrically on October 16.

The film’s arrival is drawing attention because it revisits one of Silicon Valley’s most consequential scandals while placing Holmes’ own account under intense scrutiny. It also raises familiar questions about access, accountability, and the line between documenting a subject and becoming part of the story.
Late-night television supplied its own headline. The Daily Beast reports that Robert De Niro made a surprise appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in a skit mocking FCC Chairman Brendan Carr and the regulatory pressure facing late-night comedy.

Elsewhere, Inquirer Entertainment reports that Ivanna Lisette Ortiz was indicted on 14 felony counts, including attempted murder, in connection with an alleged shooting at Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s home. Ortiz has pleaded not guilty.
Florence Pugh attended the New York premiere of Netflix’s East of Eden, which arrived October 1, while Apple TV released the trailer for Nocturne, starring Liev Schreiber, Stephen Graham, and Zazie Beetz. Just Jared reports the crime drama premieres October 30.
For a surprise Halloween-season watch, Kevin Hart, Kai Cenat, and Druski’s horror-comedy Livestream From Hell appeared unexpectedly on Prime Video, according to The Economic Times.

One clarification for readers: Caitlin Clark’s Nike Caitlin 1 signature shoe is a separate sports story, covered by Sports Illustrated.
