Emily Osment, Mitchel Musso Skip Hannah Montana Anniversary Premiere
The highly-anticipated “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” premiered in Hollywood on Monday night, but two key cast members were notably absent from the event. Emily Osment and Mitchel Musso, who played Lily and Oliver on the iconic Disney Channel series, took to social media to share their thoughts and memories of their time on the show.
Osment, who was unable to attend the premiere due to filming commitments for her current show, “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” posted a heartfelt video on Instagram from the set of the CBS sitcom. In the video, she expressed her gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support over the past 20 years.
“We are here on the set of ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,’ and unfortunately, I couldn’t be at the 20-year reunion because of our shooting schedule,” Osment explained in the video, standing alongside her co-star Montana Jordan. “But I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for sticking with us all these years. Your love for the show means the world to me. We appreciate each and every one of you. Lots of love.”
Meanwhile, Musso also shared a message on Instagram, acknowledging the fans who grew up watching “Hannah Montana” alongside the cast. He reflected on the impact of the show and the special bond he formed with his co-stars and crew members.
“To Miley, Emily, Jason, Billy Ray, Moisés, and everyone at Disney — you all became my family through the ups and downs, the highs and lows,” Musso wrote. “Thank you for believing in a goofy kid from Texas with questionable fashion choices and a unique haircut. It’s an honor to have been a part of your lives for the past 20 years and to continue sharing this journey with you.”
The “Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” is set to premiere on March 24 on Disney+ and Hulu. The special will feature Miley Cyrus performing fan-favorite songs from the series, an interview with Alex Cooper, host of “Call Me Daddy,” and a surprise appearance from Disney alum Selena Gomez, who guest-starred on the show as rival pop star Mikayla Skeech in Season 2.
Fans can look forward to reliving the magic of “Hannah Montana” and celebrating the legacy of the beloved series with the cast and special guests. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting milestone event!
