Employees Only owners opening Italian eatery Ziggy’s Roman in Dumbo

The co-founder of Employees Only, a popular cocktail lounge in Manhattan, is expanding into the restaurant scene with a new family-friendly establishment in Brooklyn.

Igor Hadzismajlovic, along with his wife Helen Zhang and partner Edo Ademovic, will be opening Ziggy’s Roman Cafe in Dumbo next month.

Zhang mentioned that they wanted to provide a dining option for families in Dumbo, as there were limited choices in the area that were budget-friendly for residents.

Ziggy’s Roman Cafe, named after their youngest child, will offer a cozy space with 65 seats indoors and a mezzanine for kids to play while parents enjoy their meal.

The menu, curated by Chef John Poiarkoff, will feature Italian Roman style dishes such as artichokes alla Romana and Roman-style pizzas by Pizzamaker Federico Crociani.

Cocktails, developed by Jason Kosmas, will be a highlight at Ziggy’s Roman Cafe, with both classic and original creations to be offered.

Miriam, a well-known restaurant in Park Slope, is also expanding with new locations in the West Village and Upper East Side, offering Mediterranean and Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine.

The restaurant, named after chef Rafi Hasid’s mother, will serve dishes like lamb shawarma terracotta and Turkish eggs, along with popular brunch items and decadent desserts.

These establishments are part of Hasid’s 6R Hospitality Group, which includes other successful ventures like 1803 NYC and Bon Courage speakeasy.
