Ford recalls more than 115K trucks over defect that potentially leads to loss of steering control
Over 115,000 Ford trucks are being recalled due to a potential steering control issue, as reported by U.S. auto safety regulators.
The recall affects specific F-250, F-350, and F-450 vehicles from the model years 2020 through 2021, with a defect that can lead to the detachment of the steering column’s upper shaft, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
A total of 115,539 vehicles are included in this recall, posing a risk of losing steering control, as stated by the auto safety regulator.
Ford dealers will inspect and repair or replace the faulty component at no cost, as indicated in the recall notice posted by regulators on Wednesday.
Owners will receive notification letters regarding the safety risks by October 6. Additional letters will be sent out once the final remedy is available, expected in December 2025.

Ford’s recall number for this issue is 25S94. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in the recall can be checked on NHTSA’s website.
This recall follows shortly after Ford announced a global recall of 1.9 million vehicles due to defective rearview cameras that may display distorted images.
In August, NHTSA reported a recall of over 355,000 Ford trucks in the U.S. due to an issue with the dashboard display.
