Gemini for Google Home Launches in 16 New Countries

Google has exciting news for users across the globe as it expands the availability of its Gemini AI voice assistant to 16 new countries, including the UK, Australia, and various European countries. This expansion comes as part of an early access rollout that promises enhanced conversational abilities and object recognition for Nest devices, such as smart speakers and displays.

Initially launched in the US, Canada, and Mexico, the Gemini for Home voice assistant is now reaching a wider audience in countries like Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, and more. With this expansion comes support for new languages like Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Spanish, and Swedish.

The rollout has already begun and is expected to reach all eligible users and devices in the coming week. Users can look out for invitations to switch their home to Gemini for Home in the Google Home app or find out how to access the early release.

In addition to expanding its voice assistant, Google has also introduced updates to the Google Home App, including enhanced Google Workspace support. Users can now invite members from different domains to their home, migrate accounts seamlessly, and set up Nest devices through their Workspace account. Furthermore, a new feature in “Public Preview” allows users to transfer older Nest thermostats, cameras, locks, and smoke alarms to the Google Home app in one go.

Despite these exciting developments, there is still no updated information on the release of the new Google Home Speaker, which was originally estimated to launch in the spring of 2026. While its arrival is imminent, Google has yet to provide an update on the launch date. Users eagerly await more news on this highly anticipated device.
