According to Gene’s wife, Shannon, he had fainted behind the wheel and drifted across multiple lanes of traffic before colliding with the parked car. The video footage reveals that Gene’s vehicle took the brunt of the impact, preventing him from potentially driving off a cliff and into the ocean.
Despite the severity of the crash, Gene miraculously escaped without any injuries. Paramedics arrived at the scene with a stretcher, but Gene did not require any medical treatment. It was revealed that the airbags in his vehicle did not deploy, but Gene emerged unscathed from the accident.
Shannon disclosed that Gene’s aversion to drinking water and recent dehydration due to a new medication were contributing factors to him passing out while driving.
