“General Hospital” star Steve Burton has taken legal action against his ex-wife Sheree Burton, alleging that she is obstructing his court-ordered time with their 11-year-old daughter, as reported by TMZ.
Court documents reveal that Steve is seeking judicial intervention to enforce their custody agreement. The former couple shares joint legal and physical custody following their divorce in 2023.
Steve alleges that Sheree has violated the custody arrangement by denying him access to their daughter, Brooklyn, in July. He accuses her of making unilateral decisions and deliberately impeding his parenting time.
Instead of cooperating on a schedule, Sheree enrolled Brooklyn in a conflicting program in California and prevented Steve from spending vacation time with their child.
Steve expresses feeling manipulated by Sheree’s actions, stating that she has unnecessarily involved their daughter in their conflicts.
Steve is requesting the court to enforce the custody agreement and impose a $5,000 sanction on Sheree for her behavior.
Steve filed for divorce in 2022 after 23 years of marriage. The couple shares adult children Makena and Jack, in addition to Brooklyn. The decision to divorce came after Sheree revealed her pregnancy in May 2022, which was not Steve’s child.
At that time, Steve confirmed that he was separated from Sheree.
