Google TV Users get Free Gemini Upgrade

Google TV has recently introduced new Gemini AI features that aim to enhance user interactions on the platform. According to a summary created by Smart Answers AI, these upgrades include more nuanced responses for live sports scores and video recipe tutorials. Tech Advisor reports that the new features also include educational ‘deep dives’ with narrated visual breakdowns and sports briefs offering league summaries and highlights.

The Gemini AI assistant on Google TV screens and devices is set to become more intelligent with the latest update. Users can now expect detailed live scorecards and viewing guidance when inquiring about sports scores. Additionally, requesting recipes will prompt video tutorials to assist users in their cooking endeavors.

One of the standout features of the update is the introduction of “deep dives,” which provide narrated visual breakdowns on educational topics such as health and wellness, economics, and technology. For example, users can explore the physiology of cold plunging with a step-by-step interactive guide and related follow-up questions.

To access these new features, users can look for the option to “Dive deeper” when launching a Gemini query on their Google TV or navigate to the Gemini tab and select “Learn.”

In addition to these enhancements, Google TV now offers sports briefs, which provide narrated overviews of selected sports leagues, including player news and game summaries. Currently, these sports briefs only cover American sports leagues such as the NBA, NCAA basketball, NHL, MLB, MLS, and NWSL.

While the new features are currently only available in North America, Google has announced that the Gemini voice assistant expansion to Australia, New Zealand, and Great Britain is expected to roll out this spring. This expansion will bring the enhanced user experience to a wider audience and further solidify Google TV as a leading platform for smart entertainment solutions.
