‘Harry Potter’ Movies to Air on Paramount Linear Networks Under Deal

All “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts” Films Coming to Paramount Networks

All eight “Harry Potter” movies and the three films in the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise are set to air on Paramount’s linear networks in a new multi-year licensing deal with Warner Bros. Discovery. This exclusive agreement will bring the beloved wizarding world to MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, and Paramount Network for the first time.

The marathon kicks off with all the “Harry Potter” movies airing on MTV from noon ET/PT on July 3 to July 5, marking the beginning of Paramount’s new lineup. Laurel Weir, head of programming and acquisitions for Paramount Media Networks, expressed excitement about expanding the network’s portfolio with these iconic films, stating that they are committed to delivering world-class franchises to a wide range of audiences.

Following the MTV marathon, Paramount Network will air one movie each weeknight starting July 13 at 6 p.m., with weekend airings beginning at noon ET/PT. Nick at Nite will then showcase the eight “Harry Potter” movies starting August 9 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

This announcement comes on the heels of the US Dept. of Justice’s approval of the merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery. While the deal still has some hurdles to overcome, it is expected to close soon.

Previously, NBCUniversal held the rights to the “Harry Potter” franchise on linear television. However, with this new agreement, Paramount Network will now be the exclusive home of the films. Fans can still stream the movies on Peacock and HBO Max.
