Jeremy Clarkson Set for More Episodes of ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’
Jeremy Clarkson, the popular television personality, is making a comeback with more episodes of the hit quiz show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” and its spin-off “Millionaire Hot Seat.” This news comes after Clarkson revealed that he is in remission from cancer, bringing a wave of relief and excitement to his fans.
ITV, the U.K. network, has greenlit 15 new episodes of the classic quiz show along with 20 episodes of the fast-paced spin-off, “Millionaire Hot Seat.” The show, which premiered earlier this year, adds a new level of pressure by requiring contestants to answer questions quickly in a high-stakes queue system or risk being replaced.
Both “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” and “Millionaire Hot Seat” are produced by Stellify Media, backed by Sony Pictures Television, for ITV and its streaming platform ITVX. The shows have been commissioned by ITV’s executives Katie Rawcliffe, Kevin O’Brien, and David Smyth, with Kerri Reid serving as the executive producer for Stellify.
Katie Rawcliffe expressed her excitement for the return of the shows, stating, “The ‘Millionaire’ brand continues to deliver for ITV audiences and ‘Millionaire Hot Seat’ has brought an exciting new energy to the format. The combination of Jeremy Clarkson’s hosting and the high-pressure gameplay has proved a winning formula, so we’re delighted to be bringing both ‘Millionaire Hot Seat’ and ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’ back for more episodes.”
Jeremy Clarkson, who will be filming both shows later this year, recently shared his battle with prostate cancer on his Prime Video series “Clarkson’s Farm.” In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Clarkson announced that he is now in remission following surgery, describing himself as “officially the world’s luckiest man.”
Fans of Jeremy Clarkson and the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” franchise can look forward to more thrilling episodes as Clarkson makes a triumphant return to the screen. The combination of his charismatic hosting style and the intense gameplay is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
