Jill Biden Bids $35,000 For Chance to Win Heated Rivalry Walk-On Role

Jill Biden, known for her love of the TV show “Heated Rivalry,” recently made headlines for her enthusiastic support of the queer hockey series. During the live auction at the NYC LGBT Community Center’s Center Dinner, the former First Lady placed a bid of $35,000 for a walk-on role in the show’s second season, along with a dinner with the cast. However, she was outbid by two other bidders who each offered $125,000 for the package.

The creators of “Heated Rivalry,” Jacob Tierney and Brendan Brady, were honored at the event with the Cultural Impact Award. They were praised for their portrayal of queer characters as fully realized leads, whose stories are treated with dignity and respect. The award was presented to them by Rachel Reid, author of the “Game Changers” queer hockey book series.

In addition to Tierney and Brady, Brooks Brothers CEO Ken Ohashi was also honored at the event. The evening featured a performance by Melanie C, also known as Sporty Spice of the Spice Girls.

Fans of “Heated Rivalry” can look forward to Season 2, which is set to premiere on HBO Max in April 2027. The new season will be an adaptation of Reid’s book “The Long Game,” and filming is expected to begin this summer with stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams returning to reprise their roles.

Tierney expressed his dedication to staying true to the source material, emphasizing the importance of honoring the original books and creating a smart adaptation. Alongside Storrie and Williams, the cast of “Heated Rivalry” includes François Arnaud, Robbie G.K., Christina Chang, Dylan Walsh, Nadine Bhabha, Sophie Nélisse, and Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova.

With its upcoming season and continued success, “Heated Rivalry” is poised to captivate audiences with its compelling storytelling and diverse representation. Fans can eagerly anticipate the return of their favorite characters and the continuation of the beloved series.
