Park Sunghoo to Debut New Anime Series “Bullet/Bullet” Exclusively on Disney+

After a decade of development, acclaimed director Park Sunghoo is set to premiere his highly anticipated anime series “Bullet/Bullet” exclusively on Disney+. The post-apocalyptic adventure follows the story of Gear, a junk dealer with a secret life as a thief, who teams up with a multi-personality robot named Qu-0213 and a gambling-addicted polar bear named Shirokuma. Together, they operate as elite thieves-for-hire until a mysterious girl enters their lives, leading them to confront the power structure of their society.

Park Sunghoo, the winner of the Best Original Anime at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, directs the series with a script by Aki Kindaichi (“Uma Musume: Cinderella Grey”). The production boasts character designs by Takahiro Yoshimatsu (“Future GPX Cyber Formula,” “Hunter x Hunter”) and concept/mechanical designs by Hidetaka Tenjin (“Mobile Suit Gundam,” “Macross”).

The talented voice cast includes Marina Inoue as Gear, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Shirokuma, Rie Kugimiya as Nosa-Nee, and Kana Hanazawa as Kaw-Nee. The opening theme “Work Hard” is performed by rapper Chanmina, while the ending theme “Glass Door” is provided by Tokyo rock band Newspeak.

Disney+ will release the 16-episode series in two parts, with the first eight episodes premiering on July 16 and the final eight arriving on August 13. “Bullet/Bullet” joins Disney+’s growing lineup of APAC originals such as “Tokyo Revengers,” “Murai in Love,” “Phoenix: Eden17,” “Medalist,” and the live-action thriller “Gannibal.”

Park Sunghoo, known for his work on “Jujutsu Kaisen” and “The God of High School,” marks his return to original anime projects with “Bullet/Bullet.” Fans can expect an exciting and action-packed series that showcases his unique storytelling and visual style.
