List of affected Colorado grocery stores
Grocery workers in various cities in Colorado are currently in the midst of a strike against Safeway and its parent company, Albertsons. As negotiations between the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 and the company continue, the union has expressed frustration over the lack of progress in reaching an agreement that addresses the needs of the workers. Some of the key demands include better staffing levels, livable wages, and the protection of workers’ health and pension benefits.
Although the strike has been gradually expanding, the exact locations and timings of the new walkouts have not been disclosed by the union yet. As of now, 22 out of the over 80 Safeway locations listed on the union’s website have joined the strike. These stores are spread across cities like Denver, Lakewood, Aurora, Estes Park, Colorado Springs, and more.
