Longtime ‘Fox & Friends’ anchor tearfully announces major co-hosting change
Steve Doocy, co-host of “Fox & Friends,” has announced a significant change in his role on the show. He will be stepping back from full-time co-hosting duties and will be permanently relocating to Florida. Starting later this month, he will join his colleagues Brian Kilmeade, Ainsley Earhardt, and Lawrence Jones remotely three times a week.
During Thursday’s broadcast, Doocy became emotional as he revealed that it was his last day hosting the show from their Midtown Manhattan studios. He clarified that he is not retiring or leaving the show but is transitioning to a new role.
Doocy, who will turn 70 next year, will now serve as the show’s full-time remote host, focusing on on-the-ground features such as the popular diner segments. He will report from various locations across the country while his co-hosts continue to broadcast from the New York studio.
Having spent decades waking up at 3:30 am and driving into NYC for the show, Doocy expressed relief at the prospect of a new role that allows for more time with his family and a flexible schedule. He shared a nostalgic memory of his early mornings and work routine, referencing a Dunkin’ Donuts commercial from the 1980s.
