Luka Doncic gifts Lakers players, staff $3,000 e-bikes
The holiday season came early for the Los Angeles Lakers, thanks to a generous gift from superstar Luka Doncic. Doncic surprised his teammates and staff by gifting them over 100 electric bikes during a practice session on Tuesday.
The news of the presents was broken to the Lakers by head coach JJ Redick, who announced that Doncic had something special for them. Initially, there was speculation among the players about receiving a car, but they were pleasantly surprised to find out they were each getting a high-end electric bike valued at around $3,000.
The Lakers shared a video on their Instagram page showing the players taking spins on their new bikes with huge smiles on their faces. Deandre Ayton expressed his excitement, saying, “This is insane. I’m glad I got this bike.” Marcus Smart added, “This is awesome. If I had this bike when I was a kid, I’d be one happy kid.”
Players like Jake LaRavia and Jaxson Hayes took to their social media accounts to thank Doncic for the thoughtful gesture. The Lakers affectionately referred to Doncic as “Luka Claus” in light of his generous gift-giving.
Doncic, who joined the Lakers less than a year ago in a trade from the Mavericks, has been a standout performer this season. In 19 games, he has averaged an impressive 34.7 points per game, helping lead the team to third place in the Western Conference standings with an 18-7 record.
The electric bike gifts from Doncic not only brought joy to the Lakers organization but also showcased his generosity and thoughtfulness towards his teammates. It was a heartwarming gesture that will surely be remembered for years to come.
