The news of the presents was broken to the Lakers by head coach JJ Redick, who announced that Doncic had something special for them. Doncic, who joined the Lakers less than a year ago in a trade from the Mavericks, has been a standout performer this season. In 19 games, he has averaged an impressive 34.7 points per game, helping lead the team to third place in the Western Conference standings with an 18-7 record.
