Man, 26, stabbed to death outside NYC bar: NYPD

A tragic incident occurred outside a bar in Brooklyn in the early hours of Sunday morning, resulting in the death of a 26-year-old man named Amare Simmons. The altercation turned deadly when Simmons was stabbed in the abdomen and slashed in the face, while another man, aged 28, sustained a slash wound to his left arm in front of Marco’s in Bushwick around 1:45 a.m. Simmons was rushed to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center but was pronounced dead upon arrival, while the other victim is currently in stable condition, according to the NYPD.

Following the incident, two persons of interest were taken into custody, and a knife believed to be the weapon used in the attack was recovered at the scene by investigators. The circumstances leading up to the fatal stabbing have not been disclosed by the police, but sources indicate that an argument preceded the violent encounter.

Simmons, a resident of Manhattan’s 30th Street Men’s Intake Center, tragically lost his life in the altercation. Marco’s, the bar where the incident took place, announced on social media that it would be closed on Sunday but would reopen on Monday. Typically open seven days a week with operating hours until 4 a.m., the bar was the scene of this unfortunate incident.

As the investigation into the stabbing continues, the community mourns the loss of a young life and hopes for justice to be served in this senseless act of violence. The details surrounding the altercation and the events leading up to it remain under investigation by law enforcement authorities.
