Manhunt launched for murder suspects who escaped Louisiana jail

A manhunt has been launched after eight inmates, three of whom are facing murder charges, escaped from the Riverbend Detention Center in northeast Louisiana. The escape occurred early Friday morning, with Louisiana State Police confirming that the inmates, all considered “violent offenders,” were reported missing at 1:20 a.m.

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill has offered the full assistance of her office, including the Fugitive Apprehension Unit, to aid in the search for the fugitives.
