Marc Resteghini Extends Overall Deal With Amazon MGM Studios
Marc Resteghini and Jack Tar Pictures have recently announced the extension of their TV overall deal and first-look film agreement with Amazon MGM Studios for an additional three years. This exclusive information was obtained by Variety.
This announcement comes on the heels of the successful launch of the Prime Video series “Young Sherlock” on March 4, where Resteghini serves as an executive producer through Jack Tar Pictures.
In a statement, Resteghini expressed his gratitude towards Amazon, stating that it has been his creative home for over 12 years. He expressed his excitement to continue the partnership under the leadership of Mike Hopkins and Peter Friedlander. Resteghini also mentioned that producing “Young Sherlock” has been a career highlight for him and he looks forward to delivering more successful projects for Amazon in the future.
As part of the renewed agreement with Amazon MGM Studios, Resteghini will be focusing on developing and producing both TV and feature projects. Some of the projects in his current slate include an animated series adaptation of the Tui T. Sutherland “Wings of Fire” books, a feature adaptation of the upcoming Lauren Oliver novel “The Girl in the Lake” in collaboration with United Artists, and a series inspired by the lyrics and characters of Billy Joel’s songbook from creator David Weil and MGM Television.
Before founding his own production company, Resteghini held a senior creative executive position at Amazon for almost a decade. During his tenure, he played a key role in developing hit series like “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “Jack Ryan,” “Reacher,” “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” “The Underground Railroad,” and “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” By the time he left in 2022, he had risen to the position of head of U.S. and global television development, overseeing all scripted, unscripted, and animation programming.
Prior to his time at Amazon, Resteghini worked with producer Denise Di Novi and later at 20th Century Fox. He also served as the head of film for producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald.
Resteghini is represented by Jackoway Austen Tyerman in his professional endeavors.
This new deal between Marc Resteghini, Jack Tar Pictures, and Amazon MGM Studios promises exciting new projects and continued success in the world of television and film.
