Medical examiner unable to determine how Lakeview man found dead in stairwell was killed

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office recently concluded its investigation into the death of 32-year-old Nolan Hart, who was found deceased in the stairwell of his Lakeview apartment building in October. According to the findings, Hart died from multiple blunt force injuries, but the office was unable to determine the manner of his death, leaving it open to possibilities such as accidental, homicide, suicide, or natural causes.

The discovery of Hart’s body was made when a maintenance worker called the police after finding him unresponsive in the stairwell early one October morning. Upon arrival, officers observed dried blood on Hart’s head and backpack, prompting them to call for an ambulance. Despite their efforts, Hart was pronounced dead at the scene, leading detectives to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Following Hart’s tragic passing, his family and friends embarked on a mission to raise awareness about the case, distributing flyers and garnering media attention to help uncover the truth. One particular flyer posted in the Lakeview neighborhood suggested foul play, alleging that Hart may have been murdered in the vicinity of the 500 block of West Addison between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on the night of his death. The family urged neighbors to review surveillance footage from that timeframe for any clues that could aid the investigation.

The mysterious circumstances surrounding Hart’s death have left many unanswered questions and his loved ones seeking closure. As the investigation continues, the community remains vigilant in their efforts to seek justice for Nolan Hart.
