The Miami Dolphins announced his passing on Tuesday morning, highlighting his significant contributions to the team’s success.
Aside from his two Super Bowl rings, Manny Fernandez was a key member of the legendary 1972 perfect team and a member of the Ring of Honor.
Fernandez started his journey at Chabot Junior College before moving on to Utah and eventually signing with the Dolphins as an undrafted player.
In a 2015 ranking by Yahoo! Sports, Fernandez was named the 10th best player in Super Bowl history.
Manny Fernandez was 79 years old at the time of his passing.
