NBA Analyst Gets Dunked On For Dubious Taylor Swift Hot Take

New York Knicks radio analyst Monica McNutt faced backlash after she made a controversial comment about Taylor Swift attending the NBA Finals.

Swift was spotted at Game 4 on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden with Este and Alana Haim from the band Haim, sporting a “Stevie Knicks” T-shirt, which caught the attention of many, including McNutt, who also works for ESPN.

During the broadcast, McNutt asked her co-host, announcer Tyler Murray, if Swift was truly present at the game.

He initially thought someone was trying to distract him by mentioning Swift’s name, but then proceeded to take a photo of the singer for his wife.

McNutt, however, expressed skepticism about Swift’s loyalty to the Knicks, stating, “She’s not a Knicks fan. Get out of here, girl.”

The interaction, captured off-camera, can be seen in the Twitter embed below.

JS reached out to the Knicks for comment, but received no immediate response.

Meanwhile, social media users shared evidence of Swift attending Knicks games as far back as 2014.

TMZ interviewed McNutt on Thursday, where she acknowledged Swift’s fandom and admitted her error, noting that Swift owns an original Amar’e Stoudemire jersey.

McNutt confessed, “I misspoke. I was not aware” of Swift’s love for the Knicks, although she hasn’t seen the singer at a game in the past couple of years.

She also made a subtle jab, saying:

“We recently saw her in Cleveland with her fiancé — clearly, Travis supports the Cavs. She wasn’t sporting any Knicks gear, so I was unaware of her loyalty to the team.”

It remains uncertain if Swift will attend Game 5 in San Antonio, but rumors suggest she may return to Madison Square Garden for her upcoming wedding to NFL player Travis Kelce.
