Netflix Sets Drop Date For Stefano Sollima’s ‘The Monster of Florence’

The highly anticipated show “The Monster of Florence” is set to premiere on Netflix on October 22nd, accompanied by a new teaser/trailer that has fans buzzing. The limited series, consisting of four episodes, delves into the chilling true story of a series of sex-related murders that occurred outside Florence from the late 1960s to the mid-1980s.

Renowned Italian genre specialist Stefano Sollima takes the helm as the director, reuniting with writer Leonardo Fasoli and cinematographer Paolo Carnera, both of whom he collaborated with on previous projects such as “Gomorrah” and “ZeroZeroZero.” Sollima’s meticulous research into the unsolved case of “The Monster” sheds light on the horrific crimes committed by the alleged serial killer, who was infamously known for using a 22 caliber Beretta as his weapon of choice.

Having previously impressed audiences with projects like “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” and “Without Remorse,” Sollima’s expertise in crafting gritty and suspenseful narratives sets the stage for what promises to be a gripping viewing experience. The cold case surrounding “The Monster” remains one of the longest and most brutal serial killing investigations in Italian history, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the series.

In addition to the stellar behind-the-scenes talent, “The Monster of Florence” boasts an impressive Italian cast including Marco Bullitta, Valentino Mannias, Francesca Olia, and more. Produced by Fremantle-owned The Apartment and Sollima’s AlterEgo shingle, the show is spearheaded by producers Lorenzo Mieli, Sollima, and Gina Gardini.

With its blend of true crime, mystery, and suspense, “The Monster of Florence” is poised to become a standout addition to Netflix’s lineup. Viewers can catch a glimpse of what’s in store by watching the teaser trailer, which offers a tantalizing preview of the dark and twisted world that awaits. As Sollima’s latest project gears up for its premiere, fans can expect a thrilling and immersive storytelling experience that will leave them on the edge of their seats.
