North Carolina teen Isabella Stroupe found bound, killed in apartment
Police in North Carolina have arrested and charged a 24-year-old man in connection with the alleged rape and murder of his teenage girlfriend, Isabella Stroupe. The tragic incident unfolded in a Charlotte apartment, where Stroupe’s body was found almost naked and bound with a tow strap. Court records revealed that she had suffered months of torture before her death.
Initially, the suspect, Thomaz Hamilton, claimed that Stroupe had a heart attack during a sexual encounter. However, a medical examiner later determined that her death was a homicide. The autopsy revealed that Stroupe had multiple broken bones, stab wounds, and other injuries consistent with long-term torture. It was concluded that she would not have been able to consent to any sexual activity.
During a search of the apartment, police discovered a bloodstained knife, a baseball bat, a sword, broken cell phones, and a blood-covered mattress and clothes. Hamilton was subsequently arrested by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and charged with first-degree murder and rape.
Hamilton has a history of criminal offenses, with at least 10 arrests since 2020 for various charges including carrying a concealed weapon and resisting a public officer. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 27 to face the charges related to Stroupe’s death.
In the wake of the tragedy, Stroupe’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for her funeral expenses. Her sister described her as a bookworm who loved sharing her favorite stories and engaging in creative activities like fan fiction and My Little Pony. The family is devastated by the loss of Isabella and is struggling to come to terms with the heartbreaking situation.
