Pregnant woman, 32, mowed down by SUV driver after NYC fender bender on way home from Beyoncé concert: police

A tragic incident unfolded in Brooklyn late Saturday night when a 32-year-old pregnant woman, Tiffany Cisuni, was struck and dragged to her death by an SUV driver after a fender bender. The hit-and-run driver, who remains at large, collided with Cisuni’s 2021 Toyota 4Runner at the intersection of Van Buren Street and Marcus Garvey Boulevard.
Following the minor collision, Cisuni got out of her vehicle to assess the damage when the driver of the 2016 Chevy Trax accelerated, hitting her from behind and dragging her along the street. The driver then fled the scene by driving against traffic on Lafayette Avenue, a one-way street.
The reckless driver’s escape was marked by further chaos as they struck a parked Volkswagen SUV and a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 38-year-old woman behind the wheel. Abandoning the Chevy Trax at the scene, the driver fled on foot, leaving behind the temporary plates on the vehicle.
Police responded to the scene after a 911 call and found Cisuni, a Long Island resident, unresponsive. She was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where she was tragically pronounced dead. Cisuni, who was in her first trimester of pregnancy, had recently shared the joyous news of expecting her first child with her husband, James.
Heartbroken family members disclosed to ABC7 that Cisuni was returning home from a Beyoncé concert at MetLife Stadium when the fatal incident occurred. The driver of the Grand Cherokee sustained minor injuries in the crash, while the driver of the Chevy Trax remains on the run.
The search for the hit-and-run driver continues as the community mourns the loss of Tiffany Cisuni and her unborn child. The devastating impact of reckless driving serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible behavior behind the wheel.
This tragic event underscores the need for accountability and justice as authorities work to apprehend the driver responsible for the senseless loss of life. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones of Tiffany Cisuni during this difficult time.
