Radical Zizian vegans tied to alleged deadly Charles Manson-like cult disrupt court
The Zizians, a radical vegan cult led by a modern-day Charles Manson figure, made headlines this week during a court hearing that quickly spiraled out of control. Alexander Leatham, 30, and Suri Dao, 23, both transgender individuals, appeared in court in Solano County, California, for the attempted murder of 82-year-old Curtis Lind with a samurai sword after he tried to evict them from his land in 2022.
Leatham, a member of a cult linked to six murders in the US, disrupted the hearing by shouting accusations at the judge. Meanwhile, Dao, who uses they/them pronouns, had to be wheeled into the courtroom in a wheelchair due to severe weight loss from restrictive anorexia.
The pair’s next court date was postponed to December 8th, as the chaotic nature of their hearings continues to unfold. In a previous hearing, Leatham claimed she was being forced to undergo hormone therapy as part of a conspiracy against transgender individuals.
The incident involving Lind occurred when he confronted Leatham, Dao, and another individual, Emma Borhanian, who were squatting on his property. Lind was attacked and left with multiple stab wounds, but he managed to defend himself by shooting Borhanian and injuring Leatham.
Despite surviving the attack, Lind was later murdered by another Zizian member, Maximilian Snyder, to prevent him from testifying against Leatham and Dao. The court is working to consolidate the cases against Leatham and Dao, while Snyder faces a separate homicide charge for his role in Lind’s murder.
The Zizians’ violent activities extend beyond California, with ties to six deaths in three states. The alleged founder, Jack “Ziz” LaSota, is compared to a modern-day Charles Manson, with followers involved in various violent incidents across the country.
In a separate incident, Snyder’s fiancé and another Zizian member fatally shot federal agent David Maland near the Canadian border. The agent returned fire, killing one suspect and injuring the other before succumbing to his injuries.
Michelle Zakjow, another Zizian member, was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of his parents in Pennsylvania. He was arrested along with two other Zizians in Delaware on charges of trespassing and possession of a handgun in a vehicle.
Overall, the Zizians’ activities have left a trail of violence and chaos, with multiple members involved in heinous crimes across the country. The legal proceedings against them continue as authorities work to bring justice to the victims and hold the cult accountable for their actions.
