‘Rescue Hi-Surf’ Canceled After One Season at Fox

Fox has officially pulled the plug on the drama series “Rescue Hi-Surf,” as confirmed by Variety. The show, which only aired for one season on the network, made its debut in September and concluded with its season finale in March, now serving as the series finale. Originally developed at Max (formerly HBO Max), the series was later picked up by Fox in 2023.

The news of the cancellation comes just a week before Fox’s annual upfront presentation to advertisers in New York. The show’s official description highlighted its focus on the heavy-water lifeguards patrolling and safeguarding the North Shore of O’ahu, known as the most famous and treacherous coastline in the world. Each episode showcased the dedicated and adrenaline-seeking first responders as they saved lives in the challenging and often life-threatening conditions of Hawaii’s Seven Mile Miracle.

The ensemble cast of “Rescue Hi-Surf” featured Robbie Magasiva, Arielle Kebbel, Adam Demos, Kekoa Kekumano, Alex Aiono, and Zoe Cipres. The series was created by Matt Kester, who also served as an executive producer alongside John Wells and Daniel Nathanson, who co-showran the series. Erin Jontow from John Wells Productions also served as an executive producer. Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment Studios co-produced the show.

As the curtains close on “Rescue Hi-Surf,” fans are left wondering about the fate of their beloved characters and the thrilling rescues that kept them on the edge of their seats. Stay tuned for more updates on the future of the show and the talented team behind it.
