Rodeo announcer has brutal prank played on him hours before show
A well-known rodeo announcer, Anthony Lucia, found himself at the center of a bizarre prank recently when his custom truck was taken and left miles away just hours before a scheduled show at Desert Rodeo in Thermal, California.
The incident unfolded as Lucia was preparing to enter the arena after attending a pre-show meeting and unloading equipment. In a video recounting the ordeal, Lucia shared that everything seemed to be going smoothly until he realized his truck was missing.
The custom truck, which was easily identifiable due to its distinctive appearance, had vanished without a trace. Lucia, along with others, began frantically searching the area, driving around nearby roads and even checking locations near the airport in hopes of locating the missing vehicle.
Using a tracking app, Lucia was able to pinpoint the truck’s location on Lindbergh Road. After a thorough search, the truck was eventually found, unharmed and with all of its contents intact, including valuable rodeo equipment.
Despite the initial panic and confusion, Lucia managed to recover the truck in time for the event and carry on with his duties as the announcer. He expressed gratitude for the safe return of his truck and reassured fans that all was well, stating, “Anyways, we’re all good. God’s good… Off to a great start.”
While the culprit behind the prank remains unknown and no arrests have been made, Lucia believes it was a harmless joke rather than a malicious theft. The rodeo event proceeded as scheduled, with Lucia back in the driver’s seat, ready to entertain the crowd with his announcing skills.
