Rolly Romero is gearing up to face off against Ryan Garcia on Friday night in a pair of custom-made, “Marty McFly” Nikes that are sure to turn heads!
TMZ Sports has exclusively learned that Jose Coronado, also known as Aztek Kustoms, painstakingly deconstructed a $40,000 pair of “Back To The Future”-themed sneakers so that Romero could sport them in the ring for his highly anticipated bout with King Ry.
These shoes, originally designed by Nike to pay homage to the iconic self-tying sneakers worn by Michael J. Fox in “Back to the Future Part II,” feature operational LED lights and all the intricate details of the original pair.
Coronado revealed that it took him approximately 50 hours to complete the customization of the sneakers for Romero.
In addition to the custom sneakers, Coronado also designed a matching warm-up suit for Romero, inspired by the hoverboard featured in the movie. The entire team will be sporting coordinated shirts to complete the look.
Aztek Kustoms has a history of creating unique boxing gear for Romero, including boots that pay tribute to icons like Bruce Lee, Frank Ocean, and Prince.
The highly-anticipated Romero vs. Garcia fight will take place in New York City’s Times Square. Fight fans can catch all the action without needing a time-traveling DeLorean!
