Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano Averages 12.4 Million Viewers on Netflix

The highly-anticipated Netflix MMA event featuring Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey has garnered an estimated audience of approximately 12 million viewers. The event, organized by Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), recorded an average minute audience (AMA) of 12.4 million Live+1 viewers globally, with a peak viewership of nearly 17 million during the Rousey vs. Carano fight.

Both Rousey and Carano, who are trailblazers in women’s MMA, made their return to the ring after extended hiatuses. Rousey last competed in 2016 before facing off against Carano, while Carano transitioned from fighting to acting in 2009.

The event featured exciting matchups such as Rousey’s victory over Carano via armbar in just 17 seconds, “The King of Violence” Mike Perry defeating Nate Diaz by TKO, and Francis Ngannou knocking out Philipe Lins in the first round. In the U.S. alone, these fights garnered an average of 9.3 million viewers, peaking at 11.6 million for the Rousey vs. Carano bout.

While the Netflix MMA event showcased thrilling fights, it fell short in terms of viewership compared to other Netflix live sports broadcasts. For instance, Jake Paul’s knockout loss to Anthony Joshua in December 2025 attracted 33 million viewers, and Terence Crawford’s win over Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez in September 2025 averaged 36.6 million viewers. The record for the highest AMA still belongs to Paul vs. Mike Tyson, which drew an estimated 108 million viewers in 2024.

The production of Rousey vs. Carano was a collaboration between MVP and EverWonder, marking another milestone in Netflix’s foray into live sports broadcasting. Despite not reaching the viewership heights of previous events, the Netflix MMA card certainly delivered on excitement and entertainment for fans around the world.
