Samsung Galaxy S26 Delayed Launch Date Rumoured
Samsung fans eagerly anticipate the launch of the latest flagship phones, and January typically marks the unveiling of the newest Galaxy devices. However, in 2026, reports suggest that Samsung may delay the release of the Galaxy S26 series, leaving tech enthusiasts in suspense.
Initially, no specific launch date was announced, leaving many to wonder how late the Galaxy S26 launch would be and if it would coincide with the busy spring launch season. Fortunately, according to Korean newspaper Money Today, the Galaxy S26 series is set to debut at a Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco on February 25, 2026. This launch date would be notably later than the previous Galaxy S25 series in 2025 and the Galaxy S24 series in 2024.
The proximity of the Galaxy S26 launch to Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 on March 2-5 raises questions about Samsung directly competing with other flagship devices. While Samsung has not launched a flagship phone at MWC since the Galaxy S5 in 2014, the rumored launch date of the Galaxy S26 series may put it in direct competition with handsets from other manufacturers like Xiaomi.
The delay in the Galaxy S26 series launch is speculated to be due to potential lineup changes. Early leaks suggested a shift in the lineup, with a Galaxy S26 Pro replacing the base model and the Plus variant being replaced by the ultra-slim Galaxy S26 Edge. However, reports now indicate that Samsung may stick with the same lineup as the Galaxy S25 series – regular, Plus, and Ultra – with the cancellation of the S26 Edge model.
The decision to maintain the existing lineup could mean that the delay in the Galaxy S26 launch may not be justified if there are only minor hardware upgrades. This could result in an underwhelming launch that risks being overshadowed by announcements at MWC. Samsung fans are hopeful that the rumors are inaccurate and that Samsung has some surprises in store to make the Galaxy S26 series one of the best phones of 2026.
