Samsung Galaxy S26 FE Shouldn’t Exist If These Leaks Are True
The Galaxy S25 FE has been a favorite among smartphone enthusiasts, striking the perfect balance between price and premium hardware. Tech Advisor even named it the best mid-range phone after its release. Naturally, expectations were high for its successor, the Galaxy S26 FE.
However, leaked information about the S26 FE suggests that Samsung may have missed the mark this time. The rumored upgrades seem to be minimal, with the main improvement being a new Exynos 2500 chipset, promising a modest performance boost. While this may result in better power efficiency, it doesn’t seem like a significant upgrade to justify a new release.
On the contrary, potential downgrades in the S26 FE are causing concern. A leaked image of the phone shows a design that resembles the S26+, but with a less appealing placement of the camera module. Additionally, reports suggest that Samsung may switch to using OLED displays from Chinese company CSOT, which are considered inferior in terms of brightness and HDR capabilities.
While these changes may not drastically impact the overall performance of the S26 FE, the idea of downgrades on a newer model is disappointing, especially if the price remains the same. In comparison, the S25 FE continues to offer impressive features, including a flagship-quality build, solid battery life, and excellent core cameras.
At its current discounted price of £549/$579.99 on Amazon, the S25 FE remains a compelling option in the mid-range smartphone market. With the S26 FE expected to launch soon, potential buyers may want to consider sticking with the tried and tested S25 FE, especially if the leaks about the newer model hold true.
Samsung may need to reevaluate its strategy for the S26 FE and ensure that any upgrades are substantial enough to justify a new release. With the current global shortage of RAM affecting tech companies, it might be time for Samsung to either step up its game or consider skipping a year to deliver a more compelling device.
