Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide Camera Spec Leak
The upcoming release of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide has generated a buzz among tech enthusiasts, but recent spec leaks suggest that it may not be the frontrunner in the foldable phone market just yet. One of the key areas of concern has been the camera setup, which seems to deviate from the triple camera system found in its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7.
According to reports from SamMobile and Dutch website GalaxyClub, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide will feature a dual camera system with two 50Mp lenses – one for wide-angle shots and the other for ultra-wide landscape photography. However, unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 7, there will be no dedicated telephoto lens, which means users will have to rely on cropping for close-up shots. This omission may limit the device’s photographic capabilities, especially considering the lack of a high-resolution sensor like the 200Mp sensor found in the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Despite the camera downgrade, both lenses are expected to support autofocus and 8K video recording at 30fps. Additionally, the device will come equipped with a pair of 10Mp selfie cameras, one on the internal display and the other on the external screen, similar to its predecessor.
In terms of other specifications, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and offer 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It is also expected to feature a larger 4,800mAh battery compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
Rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide will be unveiled at a London-based Unpacked event on July 22, alongside other Samsung devices like the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Glasses. Additionally, it may be the first device to come with Google’s Gemini Intelligence feature pre-installed.
Overall, while the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide may not have the most advanced camera setup compared to its competitors, its powerful processor, ample RAM, and larger battery make it a solid contender in the foldable phone market. Fans will have to wait until the official launch to see how it stacks up against the competition.
