Secuoya Studios has recently announced the appointment of José María Caro as their new chief content officer. This move comes shortly after Caro’s exit from HBO Max Spain, showcasing Secuoya Studios’ commitment to strengthening their global content strategy.

Caro brings with him a wealth of executive experience, having worked with companies such as Amazon MGM Studios, Buendía Estudios, and the Middle East Broadcasting Center. His diverse background in content creation, production, and executive management makes him a valuable asset to Secuoya Studios as they continue to expand their presence in the international market.

In his new role, Caro will be responsible for leading the creative development of new projects, defining the editorial vision of Secuoya Studios’ productions, and overseeing sales strategy and international market penetration plans. Additionally, he will focus on strengthening relationships with creators, talent, and strategic partners as the studio aims to produce locally rooted projects with global appeal.

Secuoya Studios, part of Secuoya Content Group, has been steadily growing since its inception five years ago. The company has expanded its offerings to include film, series, and unscripted production, positioning itself as a hub for premium content aimed at platforms and broadcasters worldwide.

Some of Secuoya Studios’ recent international projects include the Prime Video-backed reboot of “Zorro,” the William Levy-led “Montecristo,” and the Spain-Colombia historical thriller “Los 39.” These projects have helped solidify the studio’s reputation as an international independent studio with a focus on high-quality content.

Raúl Berdonés, executive chairman of Secuoya Content Group, expressed his confidence in Caro’s abilities, stating that his creative vision, international experience, and content development expertise will be invaluable in driving the studio’s growth and international expansion.

Caro’s previous roles at HBO Max, Mediapro ME, MBC, and Amazon MGM Studios have equipped him with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in his new position at Secuoya Studios. He expressed his excitement about joining the company and contributing to its global growth and strategic development.

Secuoya Studios operates from Madrid with a presence in Latin America and the U.S., utilizing a pods strategy to generate, adapt, and distribute content across different territories. With Caro at the helm as chief content officer, the studio is poised for continued success in the global market.
