‘Security guard for prostitutes’ beating three victims with two-by-four, holding one captive for a week, prosecutors claim
A shocking incident involving a Chicago man who worked as a security guard for prostitutes has left the community reeling. The man, identified as Dionte Young, allegedly chained a customer to a metal pole in a basement apartment for a week, forced him to liquidate his stock portfolio, and withdraw over $32,000 in cash from two banks. Prosecutors revealed that Young also beat the victim severely, resulting in broken ribs and a punctured lung.
The disturbing events unfolded in a basement apartment on the city’s West Side, where Young reportedly operated a sex work operation. The first case came to light when a victim confronted Young about illegal activities in the building and was brutally attacked with a two-by-four, resulting in a broken arm.
Even more horrifying allegations emerged from a second victim’s ordeal, who was beaten, chained to a pole, and forced to withdraw a significant amount of cash under duress. The victim was subjected to further violence and confinement before managing to escape with broken ribs and a punctured lung.
A third victim, a woman who was also held in the basement, suffered extensive injuries, including broken legs, a broken arm, a broken nose, and a laceration to the head. She revealed that she had worked as a sex worker for Young and had been beaten before managing to escape.
Surveillance footage linked Young to the crimes, and he was subsequently arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, robbery, and aggravated armed kidnapping. This is not Young’s first brush with the law, as he has a history of felony convictions, including aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.
The alarming series of events involving Young highlights the dangers posed by individuals awaiting trial for felony allegations. This incident underscores the need for a closer examination of the pretrial release system and its implications for public safety.
As the community grapples with the aftermath of these heinous crimes, it serves as a stark reminder of the importance of accountability and vigilance in ensuring the well-being of all members of society.
