The latest season of “Summer House” almost featured social media influencer Serena Kerrigan and “Siesta Key” star Juliette Porter, but ultimately took a different direction. Both Kerrigan and Porter revealed that they were approached by producers to join the cast of the hit reality show.
In a recent episode of Gia Giudice’s “Casual Chaos” podcast, Kerrigan, who has a massive following on TikTok, shared that she went through the interview process for season 10 of “Summer House.” However, she ultimately decided to decline the offer due to her past experience with unscripted TV, where she witnessed the lack of control over editing and portrayal on such shows. Despite finding the idea of being on the show exciting, Kerrigan admitted that she is too sensitive for the potential scrutiny.
Similarly, Porter disclosed on “The Toast” podcast that she also had discussions with “Summer House” producers. Having previously worked with the casting director for the show, Porter underwent a lengthy interview process but was ultimately not selected to join the cast. She speculated that her prior involvement in reality TV may have influenced the decision, as the producers opted to go with another candidate, Lexi Wood.
“Summer House” follows a group of friends who spend weekends together in a shared house during the summer months. The show, which recently concluded its ninth season, features a dynamic cast including Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, Paige DeSorbo, Lindsay Hubbard, Ciara Miller, Gabby Prescod, Carl Radke, Jesse Solomon, West Wilson, Imrul Hassan, and Lexi Wood.
Despite the show’s renewal for season 10, some cast members have announced their departure from the series. DeSorbo, who has been a part of “Summer House” for seven seasons, recently revealed that she will not be returning for the upcoming season. In an Instagram post, she expressed gratitude for the experiences and friendships she gained from the show but indicated that it was time for her to move on to new endeavors.
