Shot fired during lakefront robbery in Lincoln Park

Five individuals committed a robbery on a man along the lakefront in the early hours of Sunday, firing a shot during the incident. Fortunately, the victim was unharmed, but the perpetrators managed to steal his wallet and phone. The authorities suspect that the robbery may have been gang-related.

The incident occurred around 3:37 a.m. when police received reports of gunshots near Fullerton Avenue on the lakefront. However, upon arrival, there was no one in immediate danger. Approximately 20 minutes later, a man approached a tow truck driver and requested assistance, revealing that he had been a victim of a robbery.

The victim, a 25-year-old male, explained to law enforcement that he was approached by five individuals whom he did not recognize. These offenders forcefully took his belongings, and one of them even discharged a firearm in his direction, although thankfully, he was not hit.

According to an officer present at the scene, the victim had previously seen the group at the beach and suspected them to be affiliated with the Satan Disciples gang. He described the suspects as Hispanic males aged between 18 and 24, with one of them wearing a yellow shirt. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
