Sky Boards 50 Cent’s British Boxing Drama ‘Fightland’ With Starz

Sky Teams Up with Starz for Boxing Drama “Fightland” Executive Produced by 50 Cent

Brit broadcaster Sky has once again partnered with Starz for the upcoming boxing drama series “Fightland,” executive produced by Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson. This collaboration marks another exciting project between the two networks, following their successful ventures with shows like “Amadeus” and “Sweetpea.”

“Fighland” is set in the intense world of British boxing, focusing on the story of Maduka “Duke” Kilroy, played by Howard Charles. Duke, a disgraced former boxing champion, returns to London seeking revenge against the crime family he believes betrayed him. The series promises to deliver a thrilling narrative of redemption, betrayal, and ambition both inside and outside the ring.

The 8-episode first season of “Fightland” has recently wrapped filming in London and is scheduled to debut later this year in the U.S. on the Starz app and platform. In the U.K. and Ireland, the series will be available on Sky and the streaming service NOW. Executive produced by 50 Cent through his G-Unit Film & Television, “Fightland” marks Starz’s first fully owned original series.

“We’re excited to continue our partnership with Sky and bring ‘Fightland’ to audiences worldwide,” said Kathryn Busby, president of original programming at Starz. “This series offers a unique blend of action and character-driven storytelling against the backdrop of British boxing, making it a compelling addition to our lineup of original content.”

Commenting on the collaboration, Katie Keenan, group director of acquisitions for Sky UK and Europe, stated, “‘Fightland’ is a bold and captivating British production with the potential to make a global impact. We are proud to work with Starz in bringing premium, character-driven storytelling to our audiences. This series aligns perfectly with the type of high-impact drama that our viewers enjoy.”

Executive producers of “Fightland” include Francis Hopkinson and Kate Leadbetter of Expanded Media, along with showrunners and writers Damione Macedon and Raphael Jackson Jr. Additional executive producers and writers on the series are Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith.
