Spencer Pratt and Steve Hilton stun Democrats in early election results shake-up

California voters expressed their frustration with the current state and local leadership by showing their support for Spencer Pratt and Steve Hilton in the recent elections. Both candidates are now on track to compete in the runoff elections for mayor and governor after the initial ballot drops.

In a significant backlash against the Democratic rule in Los Angeles and the state, Pratt and Hilton maintained their positions as frontrunners in the race. Hilton led the governor’s race with 27.6% of the vote, closely followed by Xavier Becerra with 25.6%. On the other hand, Pratt secured second place in the mayoral race with 29.91% of the vote, trailing behind Karen Bass at 34.97%.

Pratt, known for his role in MTV’s “The Hills,” has gained momentum in his campaign by highlighting public safety issues and criticizing the inadequate response to the wildfires in LA. Political strategist Matthew Klink mentioned that Pratt’s unconventional campaign strategies, including AI videos and street art, have resonated with voters who are looking for a change from the status quo.

Meanwhile, Steve Hilton, who received the endorsement of former President Trump, is leading in the governor’s race. Hilton has been vocal about the decline of California under Democratic rule and has proposed policies to lower gas prices and eliminate state income taxes for individuals earning less than $100,000.

Despite the challenges of running as a Republican in a predominantly blue state, Hilton’s message seems to be striking a chord with voters who are dissatisfied with the current state of affairs. Pollster John McLaughlin noted that Hilton’s focus on addressing the concerns of California voters has resonated well, especially with those who disapprove of Governor Newsom and believe the state is on the wrong track.

As the race heads towards the November runoff, both Pratt and Hilton will have the opportunity to make their case for change to California voters. It will be crucial for Pratt to continue his offensive campaign strategy and appeal to a broader base of voters, including Democrats. With the possibility of a real contest in the upcoming election, California residents are poised to witness a potential shift in leadership that could bring about significant changes in the state.
