Senator Ted Cruz from Texas used a peculiar choice of words to mock Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico on Monday. This prompted social media critics to criticize the GOP lawmaker for his lack of self-awareness during an appearance on Fox News.

During an interview with Sean Hannity, Cruz remarked, “I gotta say, if you were making a list of 1,000 adjectives to describe this guy, ‘masculine’ would not be one of them. I mean, this guy, if a stiff breeze came by, it would blow him over like a feather.”

Talarico is currently running against Texas Republican Ken Paxton, who has been endorsed by President Donald Trump. Talarico has faced numerous accusations from GOP lawmakers and pundits in recent weeks.
