Thailand’s CEA to Launch Second Content Project Market

Thailand is making strides in establishing itself as a global creative powerhouse, with the launch of the second edition of the Content Project Market by the Creative Economy Agency. This event aims to provide a platform for Thai filmmakers, screenwriters, and animators to pitch their projects directly to production houses, content investors, distributors, and streaming platforms both locally and internationally. The marketplace will feature project pitching sessions, B2B business matching, networking receptions, and industry forums led by experts from Thailand and abroad. Over 70 companies are expected to participate in this event.

Chakrit Pichyangkul, the executive director of CEA, sees the Content Project Market as a crucial step towards building a sustainable ecosystem for Thai content creators. By connecting talent with funding and commercial platforms, the agency aims to elevate the standard of Thai content and enable projects to compete on a global scale. This initiative aligns with Thailand’s soft power strategy, positioning the country as a burgeoning creative hub in Southeast Asia. Pichyangkul highlights the economic potential of Thai content beyond entertainment, emphasizing its ability to attract international tourists and drive demand for Thai products and services featured in global content.

A total of 54 creative teams will present their projects at the market, with 34 teams coming from CEA’s Content Lab 2025 project. This initiative includes specialized programs for established creators developing content for international markets, screenwriters working on commercially viable scripts, and creators preparing Thai animations for production. Additionally, 20 professional content teams were selected through an open call process to participate in the event.

CEA, operating as a public agency under the Office of the Prime Minister of Thailand, focuses on driving balanced and sustainable growth in the country’s creative economy. The agency aims to develop creative industries and promote the integration of creativity and innovation into production processes to enhance the value of goods, services, and cultural capital. The Content Project Market will take place from September 10-12 at Bangkok’s True Digital Park (East), showcasing the talent and potential of Thai content creators on the global stage.
