‘The Grand Tour’ Revs Up With New Hosts

Prime Video has announced the exciting return of “The Grand Tour” with a fresh lineup of hosts. Francis Bourgeois, Thomas Holland, and James Engelsman have been tapped to lead the revamped series, promising viewers a thrilling six-episode adventure filled with challenges and excitement.

The new installment will see trainspotter-turned-petrolhead Bourgeois teaming up with the popular YouTube automotive duo from Throttle House for a globe-spanning motoring experience. From navigating the Angolan desert in track vehicles to exploring Malaysia’s automotive scene and testing American performance cars in California, the trio will take on diverse locations and challenges.

Produced by Studio Lambert, the series aims to maintain the essence of the franchise while introducing a new chapter with fresh, young talent. Bourgeois expressed his excitement about the opportunity, likening it to running in oversized wellies. Holland added his characteristic humor, joking about taking on the job of replacing the original hosts.

Engelsman reflected on his long-standing partnership with Holland, expressing his enthusiasm for the new adventures that lie ahead. Tara Erer, head of U.K. and Northern Europe originals at Prime Video, highlighted the significance of finding the right successors for the show, emphasizing the unique talents and energy that Thomas, James, and Francis bring to the series.

Original executive producer Andy Wilman praised the new hosts for their passion, knowledge, and chemistry, ensuring that they are not mere replicas of the previous trio. Tim Harcourt, chief creative officer at Studio Lambert, commended the new lineup for embodying the humor and love of cars at the heart of “The Grand Tour.”

Holland and Engelsman, known for their popular YouTube channel Throttle House, bring a wealth of automotive expertise and a substantial following to the show. Bourgeois, with his background in trainspotting and mechanical engineering, adds a unique perspective to the series. The trio’s combined talents promise to take viewers on an unforgettable journey around the world.

With an executive production team led by Phil Churchward, Tim Harcourt, Stephen Lambert, Alex Renton, and Nia Yemoh, along with production executives Hilary Berkshire and Diana Focke, the new series is set to launch globally on Prime Video later this year. Fans can look forward to an exciting and fresh take on the beloved motoring show, filled with adventure, camaraderie, and plenty of automotive thrills.
