‘The Wire’ Actor Was 46

James Ransone, a talented American actor known for his roles in popular TV shows and movies, tragically passed away on Friday at the age of 46. According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Ransone died by hanging.

Ransone gained recognition for his portrayal of Ziggy Sobotka in the acclaimed series “The Wire.” His character, Ziggy, was a dock worker who eventually turned to a life of crime. Ransone’s compelling performance in 12 episodes of the show’s second season left a lasting impact on viewers as Ziggy’s story took a dark and tragic turn.

Following his success on “The Wire,” Ransone went on to star in the HBO mini-series “Generation Kill,” where he played the role of real-life marine Cpl. Josh Ray Person.
