Tina Fey and Charlie Brooker Added to Edinburgh TV Fest Lineup
Tina Fey, the acclaimed actress, writer, and producer, is gearing up to bring some Hollywood glamour to the upcoming Edinburgh TV Festival in Scotland. She is slated to participate in a conversation with the beloved Irish TV host Graham Norton, adding a touch of star power to the event.
In addition to Fey’s appearance, “Black Mirror” creator Charlie Brooker will also be present at the festival for a lively and thought-provoking discussion. The session is promised to cover a range of topics including comedy, artificial intelligence, product design, and the TV shows that have influenced Brooker’s work.
Steven Lambert, the CEO of Studio Lambert, a renowned entertainment show producer responsible for hits like “The Traitors,” “Gogglebox,” and “Squid Game: The Challenge,” will be recording a special edition of the podcast The Town at the festival.
The Edinburgh TV Festival will feature various industry discussions on pressing issues such as the impact of YouTube on television, the challenges facing scripted and unscripted content funding, an “Adolescence” masterclass, and a live script read of “Rival.”
Furthermore, the alternative MacTaggart lecture will be delivered by satirist, comedian, writer, and actor Munya Chawawa. Chawawa will argue why broadcasters should not underestimate digital creatives and emphasize the importance of taking creative risks in the industry.
Former BBC News chief James Harding is set to deliver the keynote MacTaggart lecture, where he will delve into the challenges surrounding truth and trust in the media landscape. Additionally, industry icons Shonda Rhimes and Lenny Henry will be in attendance, with Rhimes being honored with the inaugural Edinburgh TV Festival fellowship.
The Edinburgh TV Festival is scheduled to take place from August 19 to 22, promising an exciting lineup of events and discussions for industry professionals and television enthusiasts alike.
