Toonz Launches MyToonz FAST Channel on LG Smart TVs in India
Indian animation powerhouse Toonz Media Group has recently unveiled MyToonz, a specialized FAST channel that is now accessible on LG Electronics smart TVs in India. The company has ambitious plans to expand the service globally in the coming years.
MyToonz, which is powered by technology from Amagi, is currently available to LG smart TV owners in India, with plans to roll out in Southeast Asian markets such as Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. Toonz aims to eventually launch the channel in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
Viswanath Rao, a representative from Toonz Media Group, stated, “As viewing habits evolve, content creators must evolve with them. MyToonz is our strategic response to the connected TV revolution, combining storytelling excellence with smart distribution. This launch signals our intent to lead in the FAST space and shape the future of children’s entertainment distribution.”
The channel features a vast library of content accumulated over more than 25 years of animation production at Toonz’s Thiruvananthapuram facility, producing over 10,000 minutes of content annually. Titles available on MyToonz include popular shows like “Gummy Bear and Friends,” “Zoonicorn,” “Darwin & Newts,” “Tenali Raman,” and “Hanuman,” encompassing both internationally developed properties and India-centric programming.
Amagi, the technical backbone behind the service, offers a platform utilized by broadcasters and streaming operators in numerous countries. Srividhya Srinivasan, Co-founder and CTO of Amagi, emphasized the partnership with Toonz, blending content expertise with infrastructure designed for large-scale streaming operations. “As demand for curated family programming continues to grow, IP-based delivery is essential to building sustainable FAST businesses,” Srinivasan noted.
MyToonz seamlessly integrates into LG India’s existing portfolio of free channels available to smart TV users. Brian Jung, Director of Media Entertainment Solution at LG Electronics India, expressed excitement about the addition of MyToonz, enhancing the kids’ genre offerings. He emphasized that the content aligns with LG’s commitment to providing free, high-quality programming to households.
