Tourist stabbed by NYC homeless woman at Macy’s Herald Square was changing baby: sources
A horrifying incident unfolded at Macy’s Herald Square in Midtown Manhattan when a 38-year-old tourist from California was viciously stabbed by a homeless woman while changing her 10-month-old daughter in a seventh-floor bathroom. The attack occurred during the busy holiday shopping rush at the flagship store.
The victim sustained knife wounds to her back, shoulder, and arm in the unprovoked assault. The alleged attacker, identified as Kerri Aherne, 43, was apprehended and faces charges of attempted murder, assault, and weapon possession. Aherne, who is homeless and originally from Massachusetts, is currently in police custody.
The victim, who had been shopping with her husband and child, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. She received treatment for multiple stab wounds to her back and a laceration on her right arm. Sources revealed that the victim works as a civilian for the sheriff’s office in California, where her husband also serves as a sheriff.
