Travis Kelce urges Chiefs to put ‘selfish s–t’ aside amid skid

Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce Urges Teammates to Put “Selfish S–t” Aside as Season Hangs in Balance

Travis Kelce, the veteran tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, is feeling the pressure as his team sits at 5-5 and out of the playoff picture. With seven games left in the season, Kelce is calling on his teammates to set aside any selfishness and focus on turning their season around.

Reflecting on the team’s current situation, Kelce expressed his frustration during an interview on “New Heights,” stating, “It’s frustrating because it’s gotten to the point where we’re 5-5, we’re .500 going into the back end of the schedule here, got seven games left, and we basically gotta run the table.”

Having been a key player for the Chiefs for 13 seasons, Kelce acknowledges that the team’s current record is a far cry from the AFC dominance they’ve displayed in recent years, including two Super Bowl wins and 10 consecutive playoff appearances.

Despite a rocky start to the season with two losses, the Chiefs managed to bounce back and reach a record of 5-3 before suffering two consecutive defeats that dropped them to 5-5 and third in the AFC West standings.

With a crucial matchup against the Indianapolis Colts looming, Kelce emphasized the importance of unity and teamwork, urging his teammates to focus on the collective goal rather than individual desires. He stated, “You can’t sit around pointing fingers… Whatever you go into mentally when you’re frustrated, you gotta kick that s–t aside, and you gotta think about how you’re f–king going to attack the day, and you gotta put all the selfish s–t, all the things you want for yourself aside and it’s just gotta be about this team, the guy next to you and you gotta have fun doing it, man.”

The recent heartbreaking loss to the Broncos has put a dent in the Chiefs’ playoff hopes, but Kelce remains determined to fight for every opportunity to turn the season around. As the team prepares to face the Colts, who are coming off a bye week with an 8-2 record, Kelce and his teammates know the importance of staying focused and disciplined.

Despite the challenges, Kelce continues to be a standout performer for the Chiefs, with 50 receptions for 631 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games this season. As the team gears up for a critical matchup against the Colts, Kelce’s leadership and experience will be crucial in guiding the Chiefs towards a potential playoff berth.

As kickoff approaches, all eyes will be on Kelce and the Chiefs as they look to defy the odds and make a late-season push for the playoffs.
